There will be a meeting at 6:00 pm on Monday, March 11, 2019, in the CCDHS Multipurpose room for anyone interested in coaching in the Miles City School District 5th and 6th grade girls’ volleyball program. All volunteer coaches must submit to a background check which will be paid for by the district and must be completed before games begin. Coaches will also need to complete an online concussion management course prior to any contact with kids. This free course will be explained the night of the coaches meeting.
Students interested in playing need to bring a completed and signed parental permit form, student-athlete & parent/legal guardian concussion statement and a $25 participation fee to the CCDHS gym at 6:20 pm on Monday, March 11, 2019. Students will receive this information from the school prior to the meeting.
The same format will be used this year in which players & coaches will participate in a 2 night mini-camp where skills will be taught & demonstrated before the teams are selected. The mini-camp will be held March 11th & 12th from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Teams will be selected after the mini-camp on the 12th. The rules and expectations of the program will also be addressed prior to each teams first game at WMS.
Again, we look for many girls to participate in this program and as always need volunteer coaches to make the program a success. In the past we have been fortunate to have two coaches per team and hopefully this will be the case again this year. Call Dominick Vergara at 234-4920 with any questions.
